November Proclaimed As North Carolina Radiation Safety Month

To assist North Carolina citizens and healthcare providers Radiation Protection pursued through the Department of Health and Human Services a proclamation to designate November as Radiation Safety Month. The proclamation was signed and presented to the Radiation Protection Section by Governor Beverly Perdue. Radiation safety is a collaborative effort that involves citizens receiving radiation services, healthcare providers, imaging professionals and radiation workers. The effort also includes the Radiation Protection Section supporting and sponsoring state initiatives to educate the public and promote education and guidance.
