Radiation
Leak at British Chemical Plant
Fire crews were called in to deal with a radiation leak at a British
chemical company located in Bristol.
Firefighters were called to the scene after an explosion, and a small
fire in a freezer at Tocris Cookson in Avonmouth. Firefighters in protective
suits put out the fire and are decontaminating the surrounding areas.
Experts say there is no risk to the public because the materials involved
are only dangerous if swallowed.
Approximately 75 workers at the plant were evacuated and sent home.UK
based Tocris is a leading maufacturer and supplier of chemicals for life
