Ex Husband Suspected of Smuggling Radioactive Materials

November 27, 2010
Spartanburg, South Carolina

An Inman woman reported to sheriff's deputies on Friday that it's possible her ex-husband could be smuggling radioactive material from the nuclear power plant where he works.

The woman said starting in July 2005, she has been very sick on and off for five or six years, according to an incident report.

The woman said when she moved away from her ex-husband, her health improved, but now her teenaged daughter is coming down with some of the same symptoms, the report said.

The woman did not want to give officers her ex-husband's information at the time of the report. She did say that her ex-husband is a trusted employee of the plant who could possibly smuggle radioactive material from the plant.
